When The Art Is The Floor
Background on Cadine Navarro:
“Cadine Navarro is a French-American artist who works with sound and breath to reveal hidden dynamics of the earth. Her show ‘It Sounds Like Love’ features recordings from dry, dormant prairie seeds made by high-quality microphones. She then made images from these recordings via a Japanese marbling technique called suminagashi – the art of floating ink, and then had those images etched into the floor of the Frank Museum at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. This film records the experience of various groups visiting the museum.
